  • Transportation Assistance - If you will need transportation assistance during a disaster, make sure that you pre-register with the TAR -- Transportation Assistance Registry.  You can register by going to http://www.houstonoem.net/go/survey/1855/1097/  You must register EVERY year.  Register now before the storm hits Houston!
  • Call 311 within Houston. Staff will try to provide information about points of distribution (PODs) for MREs, ice, water and wheelchair charging locations.

  • For urgent services in the Houston area, call the Houston Police Department at (713) 884-3131 and press 0 for information and referral assistance
  • For Medical Help for People Who Are Homebound in the Houston area, call the Catastrophic Medical Operations Center at (713) 884-4408. For help with dialysis needs, call (866) 407-3773
  • For transportation in Houston to dialysis, medical appointments, PODs and wheelchair charging locations, call Metrolift at (713) 225-6716. This generally requires booking 24 hours in advance
